“The new Museum Quarter will create a synthesis of city and nature, of history and future, of building and landscape, of culture, leisure, and knowledge,” said Kjetil Trædal Thorsen, founding partner of Snøhetta.
“Visitors can meet Ötzi the Iceman on top of the Virgil mountain, a place with a historic atmosphere. In addition, the new Virgil cable car system and the Museum Quarter will provide spaces of cultural significance and recreational value next to the city center of Bolzano.”
Snøhetta’s proposal imagines the Museum Quarter as an elongated structure that projects out from the mountain to echo its topography.
It would connect to the ring-shaped cable car station via a central plaza, which will be used as a space for open-air markets and concerts.
This plaza will be lined with a mix of seating areas, and lead up to the museum’s stepped roof that provides panoramic views of Bolzano and its mountainscape.
A secluded entrance to the pair of museums will puncture the hillside, leading into a joint foyer area.
Snøhetta has also proposed developing and landscape the area surrounding the scheme to make the mountain more accessible for walking, hiking, and biking.
“Through the planned cable car structure and the new Museum Quarter, the Virgil mountain will serve as a cultural and recreational area for the people and visitors of Bolzano,” added the architecture studio.
“The new Museum Quarter will establish a new landmark for Bolzano and reinforce the city’s international significance as a cultural destination.”
Snøhetta has designed a new Museum Quarter for Bolzano, Italy that will be home to Ötzi the Iceman. Sited atop Virgl mountain, the project would overlook the city and connect to the new Bolzano cable car. As an open landmark, the Museum Quarter was made to serve as a terrace for Bolzano. The elevated museum and park will include exhibition and collection space around the iconic 5,300-year old glacier mummy.
Designed for the Signa Group, the new Bolzano Quarter combines museum spaces for the South Tyrol Museum of Archaeology and the Municipal Museum of Bolzano. It’s proposed site atop the Virgl mountain is an important location for the South Tyrolean capital due to its cultural and historical significance and with its prehistoric and Roman traces. The building was designed to blend into the surrounding topography and extend the mountain terrain. Arriving from the station, visitors can enter both museums through open space on the roof and a joint foyer. The squared roof will act as a public space for diverse programs, from open-air markets to concerts.
“The new Museum Quarter will create a synthesis of city and nature, of history and future, of building and landscape, of culture, leisure, and knowledge,” says Kjetil Trædal Thorsen, Founding Partner of Snøhetta. “Visitors can meet Ötzi the Iceman, one of the most important archaeological discoveries, on top of the Virgil mountain – a place with a historic atmosphere. They will literally slip under the skin of the mountain, entering it to see the Iceman. In addition, the new Virgil cable car system and the Museum Quarter will provide spaces of cultural significance and recreational value next to the city center of Bolzano”.
The project centers on Ötzi the Iceman, who was preserved in ice at an elevation of 3,210 meters. In 1991, Ötzi was found with his clothing and equipment still intact, providing a unique glimpse into the life of a man of the Copper Age. Through the planned cable car structure and the new Museum Quarter, the Virgil mountain will serve as a cultural and recreational area for the people and visitors of Bolzano. The Museum Quarter aims to establish an open landmark for Bolzano and reinforce the city’s international significance as a cultural destination.
The hitman who shot dead John Kinsella and Paul Massey have launched an appeal against his whole life sentence.
Liverpool Crown Court heard how Mark Fellows was the gunman who carried out the clinical executions of Kinsella and Massey, who were close friends.
Judge Mr. Justice William Davis sentenced Mark Fellows to a full life sentence for the murders, which took place during a vicious gang war rooted in Salford.
The judge chose not to give Fellows a minimum jail term, which means he will never be considered for release and is likely to die behind bars.
Snøhetta has announced their new project proposal for the Museum Quarter in Bolzano. Nestled within Bolzano’s capital in Northern Italy the building’s location is set to be on top of Virgolo/Virgil Mountain. In conjunction with Bolzano’s new cable car structure, also designed by Snøhetta, the new landmark will serve as an immersive public space for the city’s inhabitants.Museum Quarter in Bolzano; Image © moka-studio & Snøhetta
The museum’s future site has a significant historical significance to the capital. In 1976, the city’s history funicular closed which made the mountains access unavailable to the public. From its lush green space to the prehistoric and Roman traces of the South Tyrolean capitol the museum will allow for the space to become accessible to visitors after nearly forty years. The Museum Quarter will also accommodate the South Tyrol Museum of Archeology and the Municipal Museum of Bolzano.
According to Kjetil Trædal Thorsen, Founding Partner of Snøhetta, “The new Museum Quarter will create a synthesis of city and nature, of history and future, of building and landscape, of culture, leisure, and knowledge. Visitors can meet Ötzi the Iceman, one of the most important archaeological discoveries, on top of the Virgl mountain – a place with a historic atmosphere. They will literally slip under the skin of the mountain, entering it to see the Iceman. In addition, the new Virgl cable car system and the Museum Quarter will provide spaces of cultural significance and recreational value next to the city center of Bolzano.”
Serving as a cultural and recreational area the museum’s design blends with the mountain’s terrain and topography. Its elongated form and ring-shaped center station create an exciting ensemble. A highlight is the museum’s roof terrace which not only provides impressive views of the city but also acts as a great public space for many to enjoy.

New York concierge Doug Ireland (Michael J. Fox) wants to go into business for himself and refurbish a hotel on Roosevelt Island, N.Y., but he needs an investor. With a few weeks left before his option on the site runs out, Doug agrees to help wealthy Christian Hanover (Anthony Higgins) conceal his affair with salesgirl Andy Hart (Gabrielle Anwar) from his wife. Film synopsis :
At first glance, FOR LOVE OR MONEY looks like a holdover from the greed-filled 1980s, a last gasp glorification of Reagan/Bush era yuppiedom. The surprise is that it’s actually an amusing, if occasionally formulaic, comedy.
Michael J. Fox is Doug Ireland, a cunning-yet-lovable concierge at New York’s posh Bradbury Hotel. Doug knows all the angles, from where to get jewelry wholesale to how to procure hard-to-get theater tickets, but he doesn’t quite have the knack for romance. Andy (Gabrielle Anwar), the department
store salesgirl on whom he has a crush, humors him but won’t agree to a date. David has two dreams: to win Andy, and have his own hotel.
When mogul Christian Hanover (Anthony Higgins) arrives at the Bradbury, Doug sees his golden opportunity. He hopes to score points when he’s entrusted with keeping an eye on Hanover’s mistress, whom he’s distressed to learn is Andy. Doug is now torn between his attraction to Andy, who he thinks

an important party. Eventually Doug learns that Hanover is not only using him as well, but is planning to purchase the land Doug had envisioned for his hotel in order to build his own palatial establishment. Thanks to an unexpected ally, Doug foils Hanover and wins Andy, who realizes that Doug was
the guy for her all along.
To the degree that it succeeds (the last half feels a bit forced), FOR LOVE OR MONEY does so on the strength of Fox’s snappy performance. Not unlike the young Jimmy Cagney, he hardly stops to breathe in some scenes, notably in the sequence–played like an elaborate three-card-monte game–in
which he and the other local concierges buy and sell theater tickets from each other. There are some original comedic touches (Fox’s sparse city apartment includes several fishtanks full of Chinese duck sauce packets), and the action moves along so quickly that one doesn’t pay much attention to
the plot’s plausibility. In any event, it’s no more unbelievable than some of the classic screwball comedies of the ’30s and ’40s, which it resembles in its pacing and colorful characters. The hotel is stocked with several, including the ancient bellhop (Fyvush Finkel of TV’s “Picket Fences”) who
prides himself on being able to take every piece of a guest’s luggage to the room in one trip. Michael Tucker (“LA Law”) has a small part as a naive out-of-towner trying to rejuvenate his marriage, and Fox’s trip with him to the wholesale jewelry exchange is one of the film’s highlights, with Fox
and the dealer exchanging insults while each attempts to get a better price. Gabrielle Anwar, though sometimes a bit too childlike, gives a refreshingly low-key performance, and her natural chemistry with Fox adds to the film’s appeal, helping to raise it above its fairly familiar elements.
The Pierre Hotel (New York City) appears in a famous American romantic comedy film “For love or money” (“Concierge”) (1993) under the name of a luxury Bradbury Hotel. The plot of the film is centered on the main character, who works as a concierge at the Bradbury Hotel, fulfilling a huge amount of various duties. It is possible to enjoy all the beauty of the hotel because it is presented in different settings and storylines.
The reason why the movie has two official titles is simple: two major aspects of the plot are emphasized by their titles, i.e. the job position and the choice made by the main character. This film deeply shows life in the hospitality industry, which is so diverse, dynamic, interesting and attractive.
The series is dedicated to provide an overview of different publications, professional literature, as well as movies, in which one might see some popular hotels, the founders of the industry and famous travel companies
In the summer of 1979, gay porn producer Anne sets out to film her most ambitious film yet, but her actors are picked off, one by one, by a mysterious killer.
Initial release: June 27, 2018 (France)
Director: Yann Gonzalez
Box office: 287,321 USD
Music composed by: M83
Nominations: Palme d’Or, Cannes Best Actress Award,
Film synopsis :
Someone is killing the cast and crew around the production of a gay French porn in “Knife + Heart,” which provides an inspired opportunity to set an erotic thriller within the milieu of vintage Parisian blue movies. In the hands of gifted French director Yann Gonzalez, who leaps from Critics’ Week to the official competition with this hyper-stylized follow-up to “You and the Night,” an environment that might have once given exploitation helmers the excuse to stage some red-blooded voyeurism (in the “Body Double” or “Crimes of Passion”) instead of the hottest tickets for gay audiences this year.
Picture “Cruising” as directed by Brian De Palma, and you’ll have a pretty good idea of what to expect from this frisky parody-homage, which is equal parts kinky and kitsch, rendered with the kind of meticulous attention to lighting, composition , and sound (including a meeting with M83, who also scored Gonzalez’s first film) that all but guarantees a cult following. The title hints at extreme passions of both the romantic and homicidal variety brought to the boil over the summer of 1979 – although frankly, a knife in the heart is perhaps the most pleasant way to go for the victims of a serial killer who alternately employs a switchblade dildo and a deep-throat ramrod.

While the murders are graphic, the sexuality is not, as Gonzalez presents an almost playful idea of what happened for gay porn at the time. In preparing the project, I have delved deep into his research, coming upon the story of a female director who, in addition to notorious tyrant on set, nursed a powerful attraction to the editor with whom she worked. This presents yet another unique situation for Gonzalez, who takes the chance to stage a tragic lesbian love story in this otherwise all-male underworld.
With her anime-big eyes and squeaky-balloon voice, gap-toothed pixie Vanessa Paradis may not be the obvious choice to play Anne Pareze, but she’s an icon in her own right, serving as a wonderfully unconventional matriarchal figure for this misfit band of lost children – a mix of “real” men she spots at construction sites and flamboyant types recruited at the gay bars she frequents. Oddly enough, she never asks to see anyone’s genitalia, which is just as well, because there’s no evidence that she ever shows her equipment in her films. She’s strictly a soft-core author, blending the corniest of exposition with the kind of quasi-symbolic imagery one might expect to find in a student film – including a burning cabin that plays a central role in the murderer’s intentions.
This is a rare case of a film where the movie-within-the-movie scenes appear less impressionistic than the footage that surrounds them, a balance established from the opening scene, in which Anne’s lover Lois (Kate Moran) assembles a 16mm forest encounter on a flatbed editor – one of those Tom of Finland-style scenarios where two men get familiar in the woods while a third looks on from behind the bushes.
Cut, shoot, mix – the very language of cinema is brutal, and Gonzalez taps into that energy via an elaborate montage, alternating between Lois’ work and the killer’s first murder. Seen only in an intimidating leather fetish mask, the mysterious villain lurks in the corner of a gay sex club (more convincing than the one James Franco staged for “Interior Leather Bar.”) And lures the ringlet-haired twink whose scene Lois is working on a room where the BDSM play takes a violent turn.
The trouble here – and with every attack that follows – is the complete lack of suspense. Gonzalez has mastered the art of creating atmosphere and tone, but not tension, and the movie feels meandering and slow at times, since audiences are not invested in anyone’s survival. Even Anne, who is devastated by the loss, is dealing with a lot of other distractions, and in her drive to make something of this substance, she starts to incorporate details of the police investigation into her next project, “Homocidal.”
Compared with the relatively intellectual “You and the Night,” in which attendees at an orgy are given to long philosophical discourses explaining their sex drives, “Knife + Heart” feels like a far more conventional genre effort, and yet, it’s still padded with monologues and what feels like fantasy sequences – as in a strange scene in which Anne organizes a picnic for the entire troupe, which has by now expanded to include trans performers (an essential component of Gonzalez’s queer worldview) and an endearing if grotesque-looking fluffer (Pierre Pirol) known as Bouche d’Or, or the “Mouth of Gold,” who’s so delighted to be of service that he performs his job for free.
As the murders mount and the police prove ineffectual, Anne sets to trap for the killer, arranging to casting for her next film that, had she only given it to a moment’s thought, would obviously entail sacrificing several more of her team. When the explanation of the murderer’s motives finally arrives, it’s deeply unsatisfying (more interesting would be someone from within Anne’s entourage) but also that relief that Gonzalez has subverted the homophobic trope of branding gay characters as freaks – here, it is the self-hating character who is treated as the outsider.

No Manches Frida 2 Full Film Review:
The Riviera Nayarit will serve as the location for the filming of sequel to the movie No Manches Frida, starring Martha Higareda and Omar Chaparro, which will be screened in early 2019 in 1,500 theaters around Mexico, several countries in Latin America, and in the United States. Filming begins on May 6th in Punta de Mita.
Producers Argüelles, Lebrija, Allen, and Higareda met at the W Punta de Mita hotel to scout the facilities, as they expect to shoot 70% of No Manches Frida 2 in that location, with the balance shot in Mexico City and Puerto Vallarta. The film will be distributed by Pantelion and Videocine.
The first part of No Manches Frida hit the screens in 2016 to considerable acclaim, which led to this sequel. The movie tells the story of “Zequi,” to thief who once out of jail decides to return to get the money he buried with his accomplice in an empty lot-which is now the site of the gymnasium for the Frida Kahlo Institute junior high school . The thief signs on as a substitute teacher, but in order to get what he needs to have deal with fellow teacher “Lucy” and a handful of rebellious students.
Mauricio Argüelles commented they hope to repeat the success of the first movie with this sequel, which is why they have already signed on the starring couple, as well as Regina Pavón and Mario Morán, and Vallarta actor Aarón Díaz.
According to Martha Higareda, though, they have also secured the participation of the children from the 4th B class-who are now in the 5th B class-to play the same characters they did in the first part; The participation of a seasoned actress was also secured, although she declined to give her name, saying that “growing up, I was one of her biggest fans.”
The shoot will take place over a total of seven weeks in locations in the Riviera Nayarit mainly at the W Punta de Mita hotel with its original design, inspired by the Huichol culture and its unparalleled magic.
The actress states she was very pleased to be shooting in the Riviera Nayarit and to be a sort of “ambassador” with each of the movies she produces and or stars in.
“Movie magic is beautiful, as is the case of No Manches Frida, where we shot on location at a tourism destination. The movie travels around and will be shown in Mexico, the United States, and in different countries around Latin America. “
“It’s always been a very important personal mission to be able to share stories with a universal message that are also set in some of the most beautiful locations in our country-and then share them around the world (…) So whenever possible when I ‘m either producing or acting in a movie, I always say’ let’s shoot it and showcase the best our country has to offer. ‘
Higareda shared that once the filming began they will be hiring locals for secondary roles or as extras, as well as for work behind the cameras. Not only that, but a movie of the scale of No Manches Frida will always bring people, who will eat at the restaurants or visit local businesses.
“This is a great opportunity for those girls and boys who have either dreamed of being in acting or who love the cinema and want to know what goes on behind the cameras. It’s very important to hire local people, because there are a lot of hard working, talented people here, “she added.
Finally, the actress-who made her name with Amar te Duele, Así del Precipicio, and Niñas Mal, and who recently entered the Netflix market with Altered Carbon-still finds joy in the smaller things of life, such as “standing in front of this amazing ocean and watching a gorgeous sunset; this is what we need to put on the big screen and show everywhere so people come and visit Mexico. “
